UBP 01
Day 01: Bangkok – Ubon Ratchathani (-/L/D)
Arrive in Ubon Ratchathani.
First visit will be Sam Phan Bok.The Grand Canyon of Thailand is the big rock reef in the Mekhong River. It is a group of sandstones formed by thousands of years of water erosion and has become a 10-meter-wide channel with a height of 3-7 meters. There are numerous Boks (basins) scattered around the area, which is located on the banks of Mekong river on the border of Thailand and Laos. There are more than 3,000 basins or Bok that’s why it’s called Sam Phan Bok.
Lunch at the local restaurant.
Next, head toward The Pha Taem National Park and the bizarre rock formations of Sao Cha liang. Hike to the top of Lan Hin Taek, which ends in a cliff overlooking the forest below. Proceed to the visitor centre and stop for a panoramic view of Laos. Explore the Pha Taem National Park further before transferring to check-in at accommodation later in the evening to culminate your experience of Isarn.
After the sun dips below the horizon, its energy stays on to show off a beautiful creation at the back of the chapel of Sirinthornwararam Phooprao Temple. It appears as if the area has absorbed the energy of the sun during the day and then releases it in a glowing light at night.
Check-in at the hotel for overnight accommodations.
Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day 02: Sri Saket - Surin (B/L/D)
Breakfast in the hotel before going to Sri Saket.
First visit will be Wat pa Sri Mongkol Ratanaram or Naga cave. It is a place to practice meditation. The architecture of the temple is beautiful, and the environment is shady. Surrounded by many species of plants and animals.
Lunch at the local restaurant.
After lunch, we will go to Surin to visit Elephant Study center, a wonderful bond between the elephant and the Kui people “where the elephant is like one of their family” not just an animal kept for work. The elephants here can amazingly be trained to be domesticated constituting the way of life between human and elephants which has eventually become the interesting belief, tradition and culture expressing a most precious relationship. You can learn the simple life of the Ban Ta Klang villagers by riding the elephant around the village, seeing the elephant’s talent, learning the Kui’s tricks to be the elephant keeper and walking the elephant across the river to clean up.
Day 03: Buriram (B/L/-)
Breakfast in the hotel before going to Buriram.
Today we will visit two of Thailand's biggest and best Khmer ruins: Phanom Rung and Muang Tam. Crowning an extinct volcano with views all the way off to Cambodia and reached by a grand promenade, Phanom Rung is a brilliantly restored temple built mostly in the 12th century. The artistic detail is as beautiful as the entire structure is grand and it will impress you even if you've already visited Cambodia's Angkor Wat. Down below Phanom Rung is Muang Tam, a smaller but also impressive and excellently restored ruin that retains some wonderful carvings. Being on flat ground, it follows a more typical layout (the same as Angkor Wat) and the complex is surrounded by four lotus-filled pools.
Lunch at the local restaurant.
Next visit Chang Arena Stadium. Chang Arena is famous for its beauty and Thailand’s first “football stadium”, having standards and being recognized by the Federation International de Football Association (FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The Stadium was designed by way of combining technology and modernization of the Chelsea and Leicester City Football Clubs in the United Kingdom to be applied to suit the weather conditions in Thailand. Presently, it has a seating capacity of 32,600 with facilities plus a modern security system. The area around the Stadium is landscaped as a large public park for the public to relax and exercise.
Last visiting, Khao Kradong, is the official park in city of Buriram. It is now the extinct volcano and surrounded by woods and rich in diversity of birds. On top of the hill there is a sacred temple. A bird eye view of Buriram city can be pleasurably seen from this spot.
Transfer to Buriram airport.
