BKK 06 Wat Traimit & Surroundings

BKK06                           Half Day Wat Traimit & Surroundings

Visit Wat Tramit, with its invaluable Golden Buddha (5 ½ tons of solid gold). This icon is the largest of its kind in the entire world and its gold was only discovered in 1955, after several centuries of remaining hidden behind a stucco layer.

Continue to visit Yaowarat Road, the main artery of Bangkok's Chinatown by walk. Bangkok’s Chinatown is the largest Chinatown in the world. Famous for its markets and numerous gold shops, the area caters largely to the local population and contains a number of busy, almost frenetic market areas concentrated around a network of roads, alleys and small streets

Last stop will be Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, considered to be the most important and largest Chinese Buddhist temple in Bangkok. It was first established as a Mahayana Buddhist temple around 1871.
