CEI01                      Half Day Chiang Rai City & Temples

TIMING:                            08.00 – 12.00  

Visit the main market area and Wat Phra Kaew Chiang Rai, where the famous Emerald Buddha (now in Bangkok) was found in A.D. 1434.

Afterwards visit Wat Doi Thong, with its Navel Pillars and overlooking the Mae Kok River. Continue with the King Meng Rai’s Monument .

Then visit Wat Rong Khun, also known as the white temple, a lifetime project of the artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. The temple has a fine blend of traditional Buddhist art with contemporary themes and is decorated with small pieces of mirrored glass which add substantially to its dramatic beauty.
